Better Living Mental Health partners with third-party platforms, ALMA and Headway, to verify insurance coverage and process claims efficiently.

We are currently credentialed with the following insurance providers in NY, DE, and CT:

  • AETNA
  • CIGNA
  • UHC (United Health Care)
  • OPTUM
  • BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD (New York only)

Payment

I accept all major credit cards as forms of payment. I also accept zelle and cash app.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.

Refund Policy for Mental Health Services

At Better Living Mental Health , we are committed to providing high-quality mental health care to our clients. We understand that billing and insurance matters can sometimes be complex, and we aim to handle these situations with transparency and fairness. This refund policy outlines the circumstances under which a refund may be issued.

1. Insurance Reimbursement

If your insurance provider does not cover a service that was expected to be covered, you may be responsible for the full payment. We strongly encourage you to verify your insurance benefits and coverage before beginning treatment.

2. Overpayment

In cases where an overpayment has been made-either by you or your insurance company-a refund will be issued for the excess amount. This may occur if:

  • Your insurance provider adjusts the amount covered after a claim has been processed.
  • A billing error results in an overcharge.

3. Denied Insurance Claims

If your insurance claim is denied, and you have already made a payment, you may request a refund for the amount paid if:

  • The denial was due to an error on our part, such as incorrect billing or coding.
  • You decide not to proceed with the appeal process.

If the denial is due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., your policy does not cover the service), no refund will be issued, and you will be responsible for the payment.

4. Cancellation of Services

If you cancel a service that has already been pre-paid, you may be eligible for a refund, depending on the timing of the cancellation:

  • Same-Day Cancellations: No refund will be provided for same-day cancellations.
  • 24-Hour Notice: If you cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice, a full refund may be issued.
  • Prepaid Packages: If you purchased a package of sessions and choose to discontinue treatment, a prorated refund may be provided for unused sessions, minus any applicable fees.

5. Processing Refunds

All refund requests must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the payment date. Refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days of receiving your request, and will be issued using the original payment method.
